guild lord qeustion
I've read on wiki that a guild lord can only take 50 damage in the start of the game. But does this also effect life stealing skills? (Vampiric bite, vamp touch, Insidious parasite ect.)
Thanks,
Rau

Actually the system works this way:
You inflict around 500 dmg for example, but he can take 50 dmg per second, so the moment you deal 500, he is healed for 450 - thus all things that substract hp from him work (not sure for degens thou) but are healed afterwards.

and so yes... life stealing triggers this mechanism... so unless you find a way in killing him in 1 blow... you cannot weaken him faster then this limit..

Is this a recent change to GL behaviour? His amulet didnt used to heal degen and life stealing as they != damage.
*Wonders if Guildwiki is wrong again*

It was changed to affect life stealing in an update a while back, because teams of touch rangers were ganking the GL. Not 100% sure about degen, but I think it affects that too.

The amulet is actualy a healing mechanism, as said above. It doens't matter what damage type he took, he is healed for the difference each second. Thats why you see his health bob up and down when you have a lot of guys on him.

I've actually heard someone talking about a way to spike down a guild lord in <1 sec using grenth's, PP/shatter, and some other stuff that I'm not sure I remember. It was a novel concept, but ofc no one's going to run it besides for shits and giggles.

Why not? that actually sounds pretty strong. If you can spike the guild lord in 1 sec (1920 HP), think of what it can do to anyone else on the field.

I watched Te run that gank build for fun with their smurf or so ( Pank Flamangos or whatever its name). It can kill GL in 5 secs. but it is very long ago, before update I think. Check their video "Zerg Rush"

Because it requires multiple characters to sac themself to very low health, and takes a long time to set up with all of the spirits and enchantments needed...
...but yes, it is possible to spike a Guild Lord down near instantly, however it is never a build that will be able to see competitive play.

What JR said. It involves a build with almost no defense, 8 characters working towards spiking, a lot of grenths balance, no runners, no forms of melee or caster hate, etc etc.
Basically, everyone would run to the flagstand, start prepping for a spike, and get hit with a deep freeze and have half of them die, then the rest would die on the retreat. GG.
As I said, a shits and giggles build to run during lock, not a serious one.

The mechanism is clear, and similar as SB... when you are at 59 health...and get 61 damage you die...the heal follows afterwards... same with the lord, problem with him is that you have to kill him near instantly if you want to kill him, with avoiding his amulet healing.
(notice the difference in description with a skill as Divine intervention...there the word: instead is used.)

Degen is maximum 20 DPS, (you have to apply -15 pips for this, since he has +5 himself), I guess if you apply an extra 30 DPS with it, the mechanism will trigger like normal...
Of course for the mathematician under us: every skill damage has infinite damage/sec but I doubt that is what the mechanism does

Degen isn't a particularly efficient method of killing a character with 2700~ health and 5 natural pips of regen.
